According to the official data of the organization's General Assembly, the main stage of the general debates takes place from September 22 to 26 and on September 28. This will be the last general debate for UN Secretary-General António Guterres, whose term of office expires at the end of 2026. In his speech on September 22, Guterres noted that issues of world peace and security, inequality, climate change, and artificial intelligence serve as a crucial test for international cooperation. Also on September 23, a high-level meeting dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on the Right to Development will be held within the framework of the UN General Assembly. Furthermore, special meetings on sea-level rise, pandemic prevention, and other important issues are scheduled during the high-level week. Special attention is also paid to the issue of artificial intelligence at this year's session. UN leaders note that the rapid development of artificial intelligence creates new opportunities and risks related to international security, development, and social relations.
