The first "Korea – Central Asia" summit, scheduled to take place in September, is seen as a crucial opportunity to elevate the regional countries' economic cooperation to a new level.
According to Centralasia-korea.org , an analytical article on this issue was published in Global Asia magazine. Prepared by Kazakh political scientist Aidar Kurmashev, the article notes that despite the intensification of joint diplomatic relations among Central Asian countries on the international stage, interregional trade and industrial cooperation are not yet sufficiently consolidated.
According to the expert, the effectiveness of cooperation should be measured not only by the number of bilateral agreements, but also by the implementation of joint projects uniting several Central Asian states. Specifically, it is proposed to create joint production chains in areas such as mineral resource processing, agriculture, automotive parts, and microelectronics.
The analysis also places special emphasis on digital cooperation. It notes that solutions such as electronic document management, advance cargo data exchange, and joint border risk management can help develop digital trade corridors.
Thus, the "Korea – Central Asia" summit is expected to go beyond traditional diplomatic negotiations and give impetus to the development of cross-border economic projects and digital economic corridors in the region.
