The GRACE-C mission will use two satellites to monitor month-to-month changes of Earth’s gravity field, enabling researchers to track water movement and surface mass changes across the planet and monitor variations in ice sheets, glaciers, underground water storage, soil moisture, and sea levels. While GRACE-C is on track to launch before July 2029 and operate within cost and schedule baselines, the project is facing cost pressure. Additionally, opportunities exist to improve NASA’s international partner agreements and project-level documents for GRACE-C.
