On September 4, 2026, an open class was held at the Makhtumkuli Fragi secondary school located in the village of Funtovo, Privolzhsky District, Astrakhan Region. The event was organized by the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (based in Astrakhan).

The main purpose of the event was to further strengthen friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, widely promote the key directions of Turkmenistan's peace-loving foreign policy, and provide information on the socio-political significance of the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty.

The open class was attended by diplomats from the Consulate of Turkmenistan, school management, teachers and students, as well as active members of the Astrakhan regional branch of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the importance of traditional friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Russia, the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and the peaceful principles of the Turkmen people.

At the end of the event, guests visited the school museum. Here they familiarized themselves with the rich historical and cultural heritage, national traditions, and spiritual values of the Turkmen people.

This event held at the Makhtumkuli Fragi school not only increased the younger generation's interest in national culture and historical heritage, but also contributed to the development of humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and Russia.
